Rick Gould is a second generation Railroader beginning his Railroad career in 1973 as a Switch Tower Operator with The Chessie System on the former B&O at Baltimore. His father and brother also had careers with the B&O in Baltimore. After qualifying at five switch towers within Baltimore Terminal he changed direction with CSX and moved into the Crew Dispatching Center at Baltimore. He dispatched crews for CSX trains at Philadelphia, Wilmington Delaware, and Baltimore Terminals holding the position of Office Manager prior to the Dispatching Centers relocation to Jacksonville, Fl. He continued to add to his rail experience while working three years as a loading and gate clerk for CSX Intermodal at Baltimores Segirt Marine Terminal. Relocating to Jacksonville Fl in 1993 Rick worked as a Customer Service Representative until 1994 when transferred into CSXs Training and Development Group at the Jacksonville Customer Service Center where he assisted in development, implementation and training of multiple systems. Promoted to Project Manager, and then Assistant Director of System Support at CSXs Customer Service Center, he worked to implement multiple new systems including CSXs remote Disaster Recovery Plan, as well as upgrades to existing systems. Rick completed his 30+ year career with CSX as the Director Fleet Management where he was responsible for distribution of CSXs 7,000 car Minerals covered hopper fleet.
